Our traditional single glazed sash window is a careful replication of the original sash window seen throughout the country. This type of window is generally specified for listed properties. Typically having a sash thickness of 35mm to 45mm, glazing is usually 4mm thick, but can accommodate most types of single glazing from 3mm agricultural glass to 8.4mm acoustic insulating glass. Glazing is carried out in the factory using traditional linseed oil putty. Following with tradition, these are often supplied with one coat primer.

Final decoration is carried out on site once the glazing putty has hardened off. However, we do have the facilities to factory finish these windows, applying the full decorative coating prior to delivery, with obvious advantages. Original windows used sash weights made of cast iron. When replacing an existing window, we will make use of the original weights, in order to keep the cost down. Where no original window exists, we will supply the window with its own weights. We use our own method of draughtsealing which keeps cold air out and also makes our sashes silky smooth to open.

If you've encountered sash windows that were draughty and difficult to open, then take a closer look at ours...
